Music enriches our lives, builds character, sparks creativity and allows us to come together and share ourselves on an even plane.
All kids are drawn to music, even non verbal and shy kids. There is something about music that resonates and breaks through all barriers. Even if they don’t want to play an instrument, they enjoy listening. But when they find an instrument that is right for them, they open up to all the possibilities.
One primary focus for this year's camp will be how music moves through our bodies. We will offer young people an opportunity to tune in to their own inner musician through a variety of activities that will enhance every camper's skills, whether they have previous experience or are looking for new horizons. Our inspiration comes from tuning into the song of our environment.
Other activities include: Yoga for body Awareness, creative dance, Earthskills, woods walks, arts and crafts, and swimming.
Music builds confidence!
We are dedicated to providing a unique experience for each camper which builds self-esteem while exploring and learning together. No previous musical experience is required! Beginners are welcome in our camp family. Together we explore and encourage creativity through instruments and vocals. Campers receive instruction in vocals, drums, guitar, bass, keyboard, and more. We encourage campers to bring their own instruments; however, camp instruments are available for them to use.
Instructors begin by assessing the interest that each child has. Experiencing an instrument first-hand enables a child to find the exact one that they connect with. Music is another way to communicate!
Instructors plan to lead the kids through a unique experience in music by helping them tune in to their own inner musician and learn to freely express themselves through music, movement, and art. We begin by seeing what interest each child. Experiencing an instrument first hand enables a child to find the instrument they connect with. Music is another way to communicate. Camp ends with a performance by the kids for family and friends.
