Pepperland Music Camp 2010
July 11-23
"A Unique Adventure for Young People 8-16 Years of Age"
What will I do each day?
A typical day at camp begins with the campers gathering for morning movement, stretching, and gratitude circle. A unique aspect of Pepperland, is our use of and focus on music through the camp day. All kids are drawn to music there is something about music that resonates deep within each of us. Through Earth skills hikes and wilderness instruction campers explore the forests, streams, and hidden valleys of the Pepperland. Campers learn to use all of their senses to experience the outdoors as they play in the creeks, crawl into their hand made debris shelters, explore the forest, track wildlife and taste edible plants. The afternoons are filled with water activities including swimming, canoeing, and water play. Campouts and Group Learning Projects will highlight their experience.
Thoughts from Donna Hopkins:
“It was amazing to see kids from diverse backgrounds connecting with nature, interacting with each other, learning to trust and take care of each other, and forming a community together. At the end of the week they didn’t want it to end….and that made it a wonderful experience for me as a teacher and guide”
